(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - For film buffs who are up for a challenge, there is a new animated reel to test your knowledge of 35 famous films referenced in just 2 minutes.

According to MentalFloss.com , the only catch is there are no clips from the actual movies in the short film called “35mm,” but rather symbols and references.

35mm from Felix Meyer on Vimeo .

The homage to 35 classic movies combines creative clues to see how many of the 35 films you can pick out. If you’re hoping to check if your answers are correct, you might be disappointed to know the folks who produced the animated are not revealing the names of the flicks just yet.

So, you’ll have to pick your brain and join in on the debate with others on the site before the big reveal.

According to Vimeo.com , the team of seven animators “Picked 35 of our favorite movies and tried to simplify them as far as possible. The outcome is a 2-minute journey through the history of film.”

German design students Felix Meyer and Pascal Monaco , are challenging viewers to “take a close look and tell us if you’ve recognized them all!”

If you enjoy classic cinema, you’ll no doubt be intrigued by the iconic elements of film recreated in this tribute. According to Cinematical.com , the motion graphics animation includes works by Alfred Hitchcock, Charlie Chaplin and Stanley Kubrick.
