(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - "American Idol" runner-up Crystal Bowersox has traded in her trademark gap-toothed grin for a full set of pearly whites.
The 24-year-old singer-songwriter, who captured the hearts of "Idol" fans with her signature dreadlocks and missing tooth, made a stop in the dentist's chair before going on this summer's American Idol Live! Tour, People.com reported.
Bowersox, who finished second this year to Lee DeWyze, showed off her sparkling new smile on her Twitter page June 25.
"Whats NOT missing in this picture?????? Yeah. That's right," she Tweeted alongside a snapshot .
Bowersox resisted calls to get her teeth fixed throughout her "Idol" run.
Bowersox endured her share of drama on the show, including a trip to the hospital due to complications from her Type 1 diabetes. At one point, host Ryan Seacrest had to convince her not to quit the show.
The single mother bounced back from a breakup with her long-time boyfriend just hours before the first night of the show's finale to belt out a stirring rendition of Patty Griffin's "Up to the Mountain."
Promoters are hoping Bowersox's new smile will bring more fans to the "American Idol" summer tour, which has already been plagued by lackluster ticket sales and canceled shows.
The tour, which just began, has already been cut short by three weeks, and eight shows have been dropped .
